‘Strike Out Cancer’ event Tuesday

TRUMAN — Truman High School Prom will be held Saturday. Doors will open at 7 p.m. with the grand march to begin at 7:30 p.m.

If you are interested in making a silent auction donation for the “Strike Out Cancer” event, a reminder that Monday is your last day to drop it off at Elizabeth Chevrolet or the Truman School.

The 2022 ‘Strike Out Cancer’ event will be held Tuesday. There will be ball games, concessions, silent auction, games, raffles, dedication wall and much more. Jaguar softball vs. Madelia at Rosburg Diamond. Jaguar baseball vs. USC at Truman High School. Junior high will start at 4:30 pm with varsity to follow. Come join the fun, there will be something for everyone.

The book fair at the Truman Public School Library will be held 3:15-5 p.m. Tuesday and from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday. You can buy one book and get one book free of equal or lesser value. The book fair is open to the public.

Wednesday is recycling day. Please place your recycling containers curbside by 7 a.m.

Second Harvest Heartland and Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors will be held 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Come to Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman to pick up your box. Eligibility is based on age, 60 years and up, household size, and income. Pre-register at 1-800-365-0270.

A reminder for Truman Public School students in grades K-6 that Wednesday is your last day for your reading count program sheets/quiz to be turned in.

The ‘Spring Fling’ at Truman Public School will be held 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, May 18. There will be a free meal of a hotdog on a bun, chips, treat and beverage in the cafeteria. The book fair will be happening in the library and art show in the cafeteria and hallways. Concerts will begin at 6 p.m. starting with kindergarten and 1st grade, 4th and 5th graders at 6:45 p.m., 2nd and 3rd graders at 7:30 p.m., and 6th and high school band/choir at 8:15 p.m. Students should dress in elementary. 6-12th grade students should wear black bottoms and spring color shirt. Please join us for a fun-filled night.

• Lions Burger Bash will be 5-7 p.m. on May 21. Proceeds will benefit Truman Days parade.

• Truman Public Schools elementary awards beginning 1:30 p.m. on Monday, May 23 in the school auditorium.

• Truman Public Schools high school awards beginning 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, in the school auditorium (senior recognition).

• Reception for all seniors and their parents at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, in the board room at Truman Public School.

• High school senior graduation/parade will be held Friday, May 27.

• Lewisville Legion Auxiliary will hold a Memorial Day breakfast from 6:30-9 a.m. on Monday, May 30.

• Lewisville Fun Daze in the Park on July 30.
