Mayo Mobile Clinic in town next week

SHERBURN – There is a CREST ‘Lunch & Learn’ program beginning 11 a.m. today at the Senior Citizens Center in Sherburn. The program will be about Container Gardening and the lunch will be ribs, scalloped potatoes, green bean casserole. and cupcakes. A free will

donation will be taken to help with the lunch expense. This event is open to anyone in Martin County.

There is a ’Hamburger Night’ from 5-8 p.m. tonight at the Sherburn Legion Club. The menu includes grilled burgers with all the fixings, pork-n-beans, and a salad for only $8.

The last Wednesday Lenten services will be held 6 p.m. tonight at St. John’s Lutheran Church, followed by a supper. This Sunday is Palm Sunday. Next week will be Holy Week before Easter.

The movie “Sonic Hedgehog 2” will be held this weekend, April 8-10, at the Sherburn Theatre. Show times will be 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 4 p.m. on Sunday. Concessions are available.

The Mayo Mobile Clinic is scheduled to be in Sherburn from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, April 11, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 13. To make an appointment, call (507) 238-8500.

St. Luke’s Catholic Church will have 10:30 a.m. Sunday services from April to June. Holy Week services are mostly in Jackson and their Easter service is 10:30 a.m. on April 17, in Sherburn.

Congratulations to the Martin County West art students, Kelly Cronk, Ivy Kokoruda and Kadyn Owens, who were chosen to show their photo art for the My Minnesota art contest at the State Capitol in St. Paul. The photos will be displayed for a year. They will

receive a framed photo and a letter from Senator Julie Rosen. They were part of the digital photography class of Sherry Carlmark. Congratulations.

Four MCW speech students placed in the top six at the subsection speech tournament. Only the top six places advance to the section tournament. Good Luck.

MCW spring sports are underway. The track team will attend a track meet at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in Mountain Lake. The softball team will meet 4:30 p.m. Friday in Welcome. On Saturday the baseball team will be in Blue Earth at noon. On Tuesday the baseball team will be in Welcome at 4:30 p.m., and the golf team will be at Fox Lake Golf Club at 4:30 p.m.

The senior class trip will be April 10-April 17 and the MCW Prom is scheduled for April 30. Other upcoming events include a prime rib supper sponsored by the Sherburn Lions Club to be held April 23, at the Sherburn Legion Club, and a pancake brunch on April 24, at the Sherburn Fire Hall.
