CEYLON — Tomorrow is Palm Sunday and area churches have scheduled special services. St. Paul’s Lutheran in Wilbert will have their regular service at 9 a.m. (Please note the change in time from 9:30 a.m. that day). They will have a special confirmation service at 11 a.m. for the confirmand’s families following COVID regulations.

Our Savior’s Lutheran in Ceylon will have their usual 5:30 p.m. service tonight. St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon will have an 8 a.m. service on Sunday, while the Circle of Faith congregations in Waverly and Welcome will have 10:30 a.m. services. Palm Sunday begins the week before Easter which is called Holy Week. The dual congregations of Wilbert and Our Savior’s will have Maundy Thursday communion service at 6:30 p.m. at Our Savior’s in Ceylon, and Good Friday service of Darkness at St. Paul’s in Wilbert at 6:30 p.m. Easter services will be 5:30 p.m. on April 3 at Our Savior’s in Ceylon. Easter service at St. Paul’s Wilbert will be held 9:30 a.m. Neither congregation will have a meal or breakfast due to the pandemic restrictions. St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon will have an Easter service at 9 a.m. on April 4. Circle of Faith congregation in Waverly will also have a 9 a.m. service on Easter and Trinity Lutheran in Welcome will have a 7 a.m. service. There will be no breakfast served this year due to the pandemic. That weekend also

begins the Passover season. All area residents are invited to any/all of these services.

Condolences to the family of Ruth (Mrs. Arnold) Lemke, who passed away last week. She lived in the Ceylon/Wilbert area and her son Douglas lives in Ceylon. She will be missed.
