Blue Earth Area alters reopening
BLUE EARTH — The Blue Earth Area School Board this week voted to begin the school year with in-person learning for students in grades K-7 and hybrid learning for students in grades 8-12.
The plan had been to begin the school year with all students having in-person learning. However, a recent rise in COVID-19 cases, related to a large “gathering” that took place in rural Winnebago, led the board to alter its plans.
“We will monitor county rate numbers closely,” said Superintendent Mandy Fletcher. “We hope to be able to fully reopen K-12 with all in-person learning on Sept. 21.”
