Sherburn Theater to resume movies

SHERBURN — Regional Worship Center in Sherburn will again host a community breakfast from 8-10 a.m. Monday mornings at 2 Crossroads Drive. They will not serve the buffet. Instead the meal will be served as ordered.

Donations accepted for the meals, and everyone is welcome to attend.

A come-and-go bridal shower for Morgan Williamson, bride-to-be of Levi Ringnell, will be 1-3 p.m. Sunday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn. All friends and family are invited. Due to the current COVID situation, social distancing and the wearing of masks are strongly encouraged.

Thad Tumbleson will hold his “Coach T Football Camp” for kindergarten through eighth-grade students on July 27-31 at the north side of the Martin County West Elementary School in Sherburn.

Grades K-3 will meet from 8:30-11:30 a.m., while grades 4-8 will hold camp from 12:30-3:30 p.m. COVID-19 precautions will be in place.

The deadline to register for the camp is July 22. To register your child or for more information, call MCW Community Education at (507) 764-2336.

Sherburn Theater announces that movies will be shown the second and fourth weekends of the month for the time being instead of every weekend. Times are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m. Sundays. For more information, call the theater at (507) 764-4045.

Old Alley Quilt Shop on Main Street in Sherburn is open again with regular hours. Classes are also being held. You can follow them on Facebook to see what’s new or sign up on their email list to stay up to date on new and upcoming events at the shop.

All Martin County West schools are now accepting new open enrollment students. To enroll your child or if you have questions, call one of the following schools: MCW/Sherburn Elementary kindergarten-second grade at (507) 764-4461; MCW/Trimont Elementary grades 3-6 at (507) 639-2081; and MCW Jr./Sr. High School at (507) 764-4671.

MCW Schools asks that parents of students who have had any recent changes, including change of address, phone numbers or e-mail address, to call (507) 764-2330 with the new information so they may receive all the news from school over the summer months.

Any report cards for students in grades 7-12 that have not already been picked up are now at the Central Office in Sherburn. They may be picked up between 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Ruby’s Pantry comes to Sherburn on July 20. Food distribution will once again be held in the parking lot of the Martin County West High School. You will not have to leave your vehicle as food will be placed in the back of your pickup or the trunk of your car. Please note the new hours are 5:30-7:30 p.m.
