Students can get help with homework

TRUMAN — Homework help is available to all Truman public school students in grades K-12 from 3-4 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday in the school media center and activities room.

This is a free service run by some wonderful volunteers. You do not need to register ahead of time.

The Truman High School hallways are open for walking (when school is in session) from 6-7:30 a.m. and 3:15-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. There is no charge. Please stop in the office and register before you walk. If you have questions, call (507) 327-6917 or email studerc@truman.k12.mn.us

Minnesota Association of Townships has announced its 2020 scholarship program, which will award up to five $2,000 scholarships to high school juniors.

All students currently enrolled in 11th grade and attending a Minnesota public, private, or parochial school, or home-study program, are eligible to apply for this program.

Applicants should submit a written essay on the theme of MAT’s 2020 Education Conference “Township Day” by May 1.

Winners will be chosen by an independent panel of judges and will be notified by Oct. 1. They will be invited to attend MAT’s awards banquet Nov. 20 in St. Cloud.

Remember if you have “cabin fever,” you can play cars or enjoy bean bags from 1-4 p.m. every Monday at the Truman Community Building. There is no charge. Also, come to Trinity Lutheran Church for coffee and rolls at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday mornings. A donation is appreciated. All are welcome.
