Faribault Co. board elects new chairman
BLUE EARTH — Faribault County commissioners on Tuesday elected a new chairman and vice chairman for 2020.
Tom Warmka was elected chairman while John Roper will be vice chairman.
In other business, Public Works director Mark Daly brought the Joint Powers Agreement between the city of Blue Earth and Faribault County to be signed.
The previously approved agreement covers the work to be done on County Road 16, also known as the Leland Parkway, beginning at Highway 169 and continuing west to the West Industrial Park.
Daly reviewed the cost estimates of the project. They show the estimated outlay for Faribault County to be $2.76 million. The estimated cost to the city and Blue Earth Light and Water is $520,000.
In another matter, the board appointed Lars Bierly to the Economic Development Authority, Retha Rasmussen to the County Extension committee, Morris Hanson, Jr. to the Board of Adjustments and Robyn Stenzel to the Planning Commission.
