Man facing felony count
FAIRMONT — A Fairmont man is facing a felony charge in Martin County.
Tederian Charles Hughes, 36, has been charged with drug possession in the fifth degree, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,00 fine.
According to the complaint:
On Nov. 2, the Fairmont Police Department assisted the Blue Earth Police Department in executing a search warrant at a residence in the 1000 block of North Prairie Avenue in Fairmont. The warrant sought to recover evidence of a burglary that occurred in Blue Earth. The suspect was identified as Hughes.
Hughes was discovered in the downstairs portion of the residence. In assisting in executing the search warrant, a Fairmont officer observed a meth pipe in plain view underneath an end table in the downstairs portion of the residence. The pipe contained a white residue that tested positive for meth.
A check of Hughes’ criminal history shows convictions for third-degree controlled substance crime and fifth-degree controlled substance crime in 2017.
Hughes is being held in the Martin County Jail on a hold by the Minnesota Department of Corrections.
