Spaghetti feed coming up

TRUMAN — The “Spruce Up Truman” group will meet 7 p.m. tonight at City Hall. This is not an exclusive group. Everyone is welcome to come and offer ideas on possible projects.

Truman High School class of 1955 will meet 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the China House Café in Truman.

Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman will observe its annual God’s Work-Our Hands day Sunday. There will be a short worship service at 8:45 a.m., then members will go out into the community and do service projects such as picking up trash, branches, etc.

Several church members will stay at the church and fill breakfast bags for the Ronald McDonald House in Rochester.

A lunch will follow at the church.

Lewisville Area Volunteer Firefighting Company is having its spaghetti feed fundraiser 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the fire hall. Bring the whole family to enjoy spaghetti, garlic bread, dessert and refreshments. A free will donation will help with updating equipment.

Truman Active Living group will meet 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Truman Museum. If you are interested in seeing Truman continue providing and improving its facilities, you’re welcome to attend.

Pesticide container recycling will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Martin County Highway Dept., 1200 Marcus St. in Fairmont. This is free.

Martin County and Fairmont cleanup day will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Martin County Highway Department. This is for appliances/electronics at $15 per item, car tires at $3 each, semi tires/racing tires at $10 each and tractor tires at $40 each. Truman Historical Association beef dinner will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Truman Community Building.

Trinity Lutheran Church will hold “Growing in Faith Together” as a Wednesday after-school program beginning Sept. 18. Participants can ride the bus to the church. This is a free program for youth. To sign up or for more details, call the church office at (507) 776-4781.
