‘Fun time’ planned at library

TRUMAN — Heartland Senior Living is hosting a pie and ice cream social from 4-6 p.m. today. The cost is $5 per slice, with all proceeds going to the activities department.

The last session of morning swim lessons for parent/tot, preschool, levels 1-7 and guard start are Aug. 5-13. There also will be an evening session from Aug. 5-9. The cost is $35 per session, per child. For more information, call Kim at (507) 402-0830.

Truman City Council will meet 5:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall. The meeting is open to the public.

Every Wednesday in August, Prairieland Solid Waste Facility is accepting household hazardous waste for free and appliances/ electronics for a fee of $15 each. The hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you have any questions, call (507) 776-3232.

Wednesday is recycling day. Please place your recycling containers curbside by 7 a.m.

Truman Public School library is having a “make it-take it” fun time for any student who has finished grades 3-8 from 5-7 p.m. Aug. 8. Come to the library at the school for this free event. You can even check out a book or two and bring it back when school starts. Parents are also welcome.

Just an update on the “hens” that became residents in Truman. They did well at the Blue Earth County Fair, and some are laying eggs. If you have any questions about having chickens, call City Hall at (507) 776-7951.
