FFA night slated Monday

SHERBURN — Federated Rural Electric is holding its 84th annual meeting Thursday night in the cafeteria and gymnasium at Martin County West High School in Sherburn.

Registration for the meeting will begin at 5 p.m. and continue until 6:30 p.m. Upon registration, members will receive a free gift.

Also on the agenda will be a free meal, served from 5-6:30 p.m., consisting of pork chop on a stick grilled by the Martin County Pork Producers, cheesy hashbrowns, baked beans, cookies or bars.

Bingo for anyone interested will be played between 5:30-6:15 p.m., with prizes given out.

The meeting will get underway around 6:30 p.m. with more than 40 prizes to be given away, including several Federated electricity gift certificates, other gift certificates and prizes from area businesses.

At the meeting, guests will learn about this year’s co-op highlights, the April ice storm recovery and the outlook for next year.

The school is air-conditioned so it should be comfortable for everyone attending.

Parking will be in the high school and elementary school lots, on side streets or on the grass at the south side of the football field. If walking is a problem for you, watch for the golf carts driven by Federated employees, who will pick you up from the parking areas and drop you off at the front door.
