Comedy magic show coming up

TRUMAN — During July and August, Trinity Lutheran Church will hold its worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sundays, with coffee hour at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend.

Another session of morning and evening swimming lessons begin Monday. The morning lessons are for seven days and the evening lessons are for five days.

Classes offered: Parent tot/preschool/levels 1-7 and Guard Start. The cost is $35 per session, per child.

Remember that Truman has an outdoor pool, which makes it great for summertime lessons.

Truman Active Living will meet 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Truman Historical Museum. Any interested Truman resident who would like to see Truman continue to provide and improve its facilities are welcome to attend. Your input is welcome.

The ladies of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Truman will host a salad luncheon from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. There will be 40 salads served with something for everyone.

The cost is $8 for adults and less for children.

Men are also welcome.

There is a chair lift available for easy access to the basement area where the food will be served.

Take-out containers will be available.

Truman Library is sponsoring a fun summer event 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Truman Community Building. The Brodini Comedy Magic Show is free and is sponsored through the Martin County library system. Everyone is welcome to attend.

There are also free story time and craft sessions at 3 p.m. every Wednesday at the Truman Library.

A come-and-go bridal shower for Kristi Oberdieck will be 9:30-11:30 a.m. July 13 in the fireside room at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman.

Registration for the Jaguar fall traveling volleyball league for area children entering grades 4-6 is due by July 20.

The fee is $30, which includes a shirt. Please make checks payable to Truman Community Education and turned into the THS office along with registration.

Triple Threat basketball camp for boys and girls ages 7-12 will be July 29-31 at the high school gym in Truman. Boys will meet 8:30-11:30 a.m. while girls will meet 12:30-3:30 p.m.

The cost is $70 for this program, which works on developing “next level” skills. Fundamentals of championship defense, transition, ball handling and scoring moves will receive major attention.

A firearm safety class taught by Chuck Strenge for those age 11 and older will be 7-9 p.m. July 29 to Aug. 3 in the board conference room at Truman High School. Class size is limited to 20.

Mail registration and $10 fee to Truman Area Community Education, 401 East First St. South, Truman, MN 56088 by July 25, with student name, birthdate, parents name and phone number.

The firearm safety class consists of classroom and field experience in the safe handling of firearms and hunter responsibility. The field experience allows students to learn and demonstrate commonly accepted principles of safety in hunting and the handling of firearms. It includes live fire on a rifle range.
