CEYLON — Ceylon Summerfest will be held today.

The vendor fair, silent auction and classic car show run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Main Street. Registration begins at 9 a.m.

Live music by Bordertown is from noon to 2 p.m.

The parade will begin at 4 p.m., with lineup at 2:30 p.m. by Andrews Street. The parade will go to Railroad Street, to Main Street, then to Clark Street. Please keep Railroad Street clear one hour before the parade.

Children’s activities, including a bouncy house, will be held on the north side of Main Street by the community sign.

The vendor fair and silent auction is in Legends 2 (old from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The bean bag tournament was cancelled due to lack of participants, but there will be a MN Guard Rock Wall on street on the east side of the bank.

The street dance will feature Farm Rock, the band that does not take breaks, from 8 p.m to midnight by Legends 2.

Proceeds from the day will help the First Responders upgrade their emergency equipment and help with upgrades of city park equipment. Come to Ceylon for a fun day today.

St. Paul’s Lutheran LWML ladies group at Wilbert will host a salad luncheon from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Various salads, bars and egg coffee will be available. The church is air-conditioned.

Tuesday coffee hours for the month of July will begin at 8:30 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon.

As a reminder, coffee lovers also meet 8:30-10 a.m. Thursdays at the Legends 2 building in Ceylon.

Circle of Faith parishes remind everyone that their summer schedule of services for the month of July feature 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening services at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon.

Waverly Lutheran and Trinity Lutheran congregations in Welcome will have Sunday services at 8:30 a.m.

Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon continues its usual 5:30 p.m. Saturday evening services while St. Paul’s Lutheran in Wilbert has services 9:30 a.m. on Sundays.

Area residents are welcome to join any of these congregations for summer worship.

Ceylon Area Historical Society will have the museum open from 1-3 p.m. July 6. If you have friends or relatives visiting, treat them to an interesting afternoon looking at the items from the school, town and area.
