Sylvania Park to host guitarist, singer Mayo
FAIRMONT — The Fairmont Opera House will kick off the Summer Event Series with P.K. Mayo at 7 p.m. Thursday at Sylvania Park.
The show is free to attend. Donations will be accepted.
Mayo, also known as Paul Kennedy Mayasich, is a guitarist, singer and songwriter from Minnesota. Awards under his belt include Minnesota Blues Hall of Fame Performer of the Year and the Minnesota Music Award for Best Recording of an Original Song for “Arms of the Blues.” He is also a Minnesota Rock and Country Hall of Fame inductee.
Mayo began playing guitar as a young boy growing up outside the Mesabi Iron Range town of Eveleth. His natural talent on guitar, especially slide guitar, has garnered worldwide praise from colleagues and reviewers. He adds his rich vocals.
