Golf carts need permits to operate in Truman

Pat Jones will hold scrapbooking sessions from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 102 Seventh Ave. E., in Truman.

Prairieland Solid Waste Facility in Truman will accept your household hazardous waste for free or appliances and electronics for a fee of $15 each from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Wednesday in May.

If you own a golf cart and operate it on the streets of Truman, you must have a required permit from City Hall. The fee is $10. You must have a certificate of insurance, fill out an application and be a licensed driver. All golf carts are required to have a slow-moving sign, headlights and taillights.

The second annual Strike Out Cancer softball event will take place beginning 4:30 p.m. Monday at Rosburg Diamond in Truman. There will be a ribbon wall, silent auction, survivor walk and more. All proceeds will be donated to Martin and Watonwan County Relay for Life.

Recycling day is next Wednesday. Please place your recycling container curbside by 7 a.m.
