Golf carts need permits to operate in Truman

Prairieland Solid Waste Facility in Truman will accept your household hazardous waste for free or appliances and electronics for a fee of $15 each from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Wednesday in May.

If you own a golf cart and operate it on the streets of Truman, you must have a required permit from City Hall. The fee is $10. You must have a certificate of insurance, fill out an application and be a licensed driver. All golf carts are required to have a slow-moving sign, headlights and taillights.

The second annual Strike Out Cancer softball event will take place beginning 4:30 p.m. Monday at Rosburg Diamond in Truman. There will be a ribbon wall, silent auction, survivor walk and more. All proceeds will be donated to Martin and Watonwan County Relay for Life.
