CEYLON — According to organizers and auctioneers, Ceylon Community Day events planned for today have been postponed until April 20.

Tuesday coffee hours for April continue from 8:30-10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Trimont.

Thursday is Maundy Thursday of Holy Week so there are special services at 6:30 p.m. with communion at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon.

St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon will host the Circle of Faith parishes for a 6:30 p.m. service.

On Good Friday, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will host a special service of darkness at 6:30 p.m. Circle of Faith parishes will meet 6:30 p.m. at Waverly Lutheran Church north of Welcome.

Easter services are planned at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon at its usual 5:30 p.m. Saturday evening service, with an Easter brunch served after the service.

Easter at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will begin with an Easter breakfast from 7:45-9 a.m. and its festival service at 9:30 a.m. There will be children’s activities from 8:15-9:15 a.m.

Easter services for Circle of Faith parishes will be held at each church with a 7 a.m. sunrise service and then a breakfast held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome, an 8:30 a.m. service at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon and a 10:30 a.m. service at Waverly Lutheran Church north of Welcome.

Area residents are welcome to join any of these congregations for their services.

A Red Cross blood drive held Wednesday in Ceylon collected nine units of blood with one deferral in spite of the cold snowy weather.

Thank you to all those who gave blood and those volunteers who helped at the registration desk and the canteen.

The next blood drive in Ceylon will be July 17.

There will be a blood drive from 12:30-5:30 p.m. April 29 at Martin Luther High School in Northrop. If you cannot make it to this blood drive, call (800) 733-2767 or go online to www.redcrossblood.org to find a blood drive coming in the area.
