Remember that affidavits of candidacy for township elections may be filed with the clerk of the township from Jan. 1-15.

Lake Belt Township needs one supervisor for a three-year term and a treasurer for a two-year term. Contact Jeff Hagen to file.

In Tenhassen Township, the clerk is Larry Simpson. They need one supervisor (three years) and a treasurer (two years).

Think about serving at this grassroots level of government.

Upcoming events include:

o The ladies at St. Peter Lutheran will quilt for missions on Jan. 9-10, and invite anyone who likes to quilt to join them.

o Legends 2 will have a fish fry beginning 5 p.m. Jan. 11.

o A cribbage tournament will be held Jan. 12 at the Legends2/Legion building in Ceylon. Registration begins at 1:15 p.m., with play getting underway around 1:30 p.m.
