Correction

An article in Friday’s edition included incorrect dates for the city’s annual leaf pickup. The correct schedule is as follow:

o Section 2 — Oct. 29 to Nov. 2 – Residences between Blue Earth Avenue/Lake Avenue and Lair Road/Cardinal Street.

o Section 3 — Nov. 5-9 – South of Lair Road/Cardinal Street.

o Section 1 — Nov. 12-16 – North of Blue Earth Avenue/Lake Avenue.

For those who live on one of the dividing streets, such as the north side of Blue Earth Avenue, leaves will be collected the first week. Those living on the south side of Blue Earth Avenue will have their leaves collected the second week.

Mayo offers flu vaccine clinics

FAIRMONT — Mayo Clinic Health System-Fairmont is offering public flu clinics during the following dates and times:

o Monday, Oct. 1, 8-10:45 a.m.

o Monday, Oct. 8, 8-10:45 a.m.

o Monday, Oct. 15, 8-10:45 a.m.

o Monday, Oct. 22, 8 a.m. to noon and 1-5 p.m.

o Monday, Oct. 29, 8 a.m. to noon and 1-5 p.m.

o Tuesdays, Oct. 2 – Nov. 13, 1-5:30 p.m.

People interested in getting their flu shot at these clinics should call (877) 412-7575 (toll-free) to schedule an appointment. Patients can also request a flu vaccination during an appointment with their primary health care provider.

More speed limits increasing

MANKATO — Nine more two-lane highway segments in south-central Minnesota will have speed limit increases from 55 mph to 60 mph by the end of 2018.

The increases are the result of a 2014 legislative mandate for MnDOT to study posted speed limits on all two-lane state highways and make recommendations for possible speed limit increases.

Sections of highway that will have increased speed limits (when posted) are:

o Highway 4 from I-90 (Sherburn) to Sleepy Eye

o Highway 14 from Highway 71 to New Ulm

o Highway 15 from the Iowa border to Winthrop

o Highway 19 from Fairfax to Gaylord

o Highway 19 east of New Prague to Highway 13

o Highway 22 from Iowa border to Mankato

o Highway 59 from Iowa to Highway 60

o Highway 62 from Fulda to Windom

o Highway 109 from Wells to Alden
