Blood drive slated in Welcome

WELCOME — Monday will be the first of October and senior citizens will meet for their monthly potluck meal at noon at the Welcome Legion Hall, with fellowship to follow.

All area senior citizens are encouraged to attend.

n

Tuesday will be a busy day. Coffee hours for the month of October will be held 8:30-10 a.m. at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sherburn. Join friends and neighbors for the morning.

October is the last month for these get-togethers, a sure sign of fall.

n

St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Welcome will host a Red Cross blood drive from 12:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Give the gift of life, give blood. Call for an appointment at (800) 733-2767, text BLOODAPP to 90999 or go online to www.redcrossblood.org.

Blood is especially needed after the recent storms out East.

n

Welcome City Council will meet 6 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall. All members are urged to attend.

There is always a time for public comments at the beginning of each meeting. To be on the regular agenda, please contact the city clerk prior to the meeting.

n

Thank you to the city workers and volunteers who helped clean up the trees and other things blown down in the storm Sept. 20.
