Groups seeking helpers

TRUMAN — Jaguar youth football is looking for players for the 2018 football season.

It is a full-contact youth football league for kids entering grades 3-6 this fall.

Practices are held Monday and Thursday evenings in Truman, with games held Saturday mornings through mid October.

Truman City Council will meet 5:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall. All meetings are open to the public.

Truman School Board meets 6 p.m. Monday in the THS Learning Center.

To schedule your back-to-school elementary conference for kindergarten through sixth grade to be held Sept. 4 or 5, or to pick up your school packet, please call (507) 776-2111 or stop by the school office. School for elementary students begins Sept. 6.

CREST is offering assistance to individuals in Truman who are taking care of a loved one with dementia, Parkinson’s Disease or other debilitating diseases.

A Caregiver Support Group meets 1:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at Heartland Senior Living Center in Truman to offer support and encouragement.

Truman Pride is in need of individuals to help in supporting and planning activities that support Truman Public School. Paula Kester is the president. Call her at (507) 236-6774.

Remember to come to community coffee time at Trinity Lutheran Church starting 8:30 a.m. Tuesdays. Sweet treats, coffee, tea or juice are available for a free-will donation.

The group grows each week. Members of the community are welcome to come for a time of fellowship. Bring your friends and join this group. It’s not just a “woman’s thing” — many men also attend. All ages are welcome and you can come and go at your convenience.
