Murder case: Man arrested

LAKOTA, Iowa — A Lakota, Iowa, man has been arrested for murder in the first degree.

According to a press release from the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Chad David Dietrick, 45, is suspected in the death of Krista Lynn Hesebeck, 38, also of Lakota.

At 12:47 a.m. Saturday, the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from the 500 block of Smith Street in Lakota asking for medical assistance. The reporting party stated a domestic assault with weapons occurred at a residence in the 200 block of Second Street in Lakota.

Kossuth County deputies, as well as ambulance services from Lakota, Swea City and Algona, responded. Deputies found a male with lacerations to his left arm in the 500 block of Smith Street and a deceased female in the 200 block of Second Street. The Iowa division of Criminal Investigations was contacted to assist with the investigation.

Dietrick is being held at the Kossuth County Jail awaiting his initial appearance.

The Sheriff’s Office says no further information will be released at this time, while the cause of death will be determined by autopsy.

Other agencies assisting include the Algona Police Department, Forest City Police Department and the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.
