Food shelf seeks donations

SHERBURN — A spaghetti feed, sponsored by parents of the Martin County West class of 2019, will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Martin County West Jr./Sr. High School in Sherburn.

Tickets are available at the door. Cost is $7 for adults, $5 for students in grades K-6, while preschoolers and under get in for free.

The girls basketball team will be playing Fairmont Thursday evening so you can come and eat, then stay and watch an exciting basketball game.

Proceeds from the meal will go toward the after-prom party this spring.

The Martin County West All-Bands Concert that was postponed last week due to the snowstorm has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. Feb. 13 in the high school gymnasium in Sherburn. Everyone is invited to attend.

On the first Sunday of every month, St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn will take donations for our local food shelf. Donations can be placed in the front entry of the church.

Items that are needed include non-perishable food items, canned goods, tissues, paper towels, dish soap, laundry soap, hand soap, diapers, lotion, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, Band-Aids, multivitamins, etc.

Cash donations are also appreciated.

Our local food shelf is located at the back door of First United Congregational Church in Sherburn. Donations may be dropped off from 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the second Saturday of each month, or noon to 1 p.m. the third Saturday of every month.
