Museum will be open today

CEYLON — Ceylon Area Historical Society Museum will be open 1-3 p.m. today. Check out the interesting items from the area, city and school.

The museum is across the street from the post office and west of the bank on Main Street. They plan to be open on the first Saturday in July and August also.

If you want to visit the museum when it’s not open, contact any of the directors to make an appointment. Directors are: Ronnie Leiding, Tom and Greg Bents, Marilyn Stelter, Ann Yackle and Steve Houfer.

For Sundays during June, St. Peter Lutheran Church will NOT have services, but will have services 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays beginning June 7. Circle of Faith parishes are welcome to come to services then. The other parishes will continue their usual Sunday services during June.

The Red Hat group from Ceylon will meet for lunch and fellowship 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Legends/Ceylon Legion building. All members are encouraged to attend.

There will be no coffee hours for June in Dunnell due to lack of volunteers. The coffee hours will continue in July with St. Peter Lutheran Church as host.

St. Peter Ladies will meet 9 a.m. Wednesday and will meet in the mornings during the summer months of June, July and August, and possibly September, on the first Wednesday each of those months.

Friendly Neighbors Card Club will meet 1:30 p.m. Friday at the home of Jeannine Rasmussen in Dolliver, Iowa. All members are urged to attend.

Red Cross blood drives will be held next week in Fairmont at the Holiday Inn. Times are 1-7 p.m. Tuesday, noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday.

Future blood drives will be in Sherburn from 1-7 p.m. June 12, from 1-6 p.m. June 21 in Armstrong, Iowa, and from 1-6 p.m. July 6 in Ceylon.
