Welcome adding ‘Little Library’

WELCOME — This weekend is Memorial Day weekend, so please drive safely if you’re going on a trip or to a program.

Welcome Legion, Sons of Legion, and Legion Auxiliary are planning a Memorial Day program beginning 9 a.m. Monday at the old gym in the Welcome School. Chris Trembley will be the speaker. The public is welcome to remember those who gave their all in defense of our country.

Remember, freedom isn’t free. Thank you to all those who have served and are serving in the armed forces.

Coffee hours continue one more Tuesday from 8:30-10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. Tuesday coffee hours for the month of June will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dunnell. There’s a handicap entrance to the basement.

There will be free root beer floats 5 p.m. Wednesday at Welcome City Park. A new “Little Free Library” will be added to the park.

Help celebrate the new library. Anyone can bring a book to donate or just come to see if there is a book to take home. Little Free Library will be available for all to use. Bring a book, read a book, return it, or replace it.

Join in the fun; all ages welcome; your park, your library.

Thank you to St. Paul’s United Church of Christ Women’s group for donating the little library and maintaining it.

Welcome Historical Society Museum will next be open from 2-4 p.m. June 3. Make sure to check out the interesting exhibits.
