Nathan M. Gottman, 34, of Fairmont was convicted on a felony charge of domestic assault by strangulation; fined $1,185, commit to Commissioner of Corrections 18 months, stayed for three years, sentenced to jail 60 days, credit for time served six days, serve as work release if eligible, may complete STS while in custody, three years supervised probation, contact probation officer as directed, no alcohol/controlled substance use, no alcohol/controlled substance possession, random testing, follow all recommendations of updated chemical dependency assessment, complete domestic abuse batterer’s intervention program, follow all current and/or future Order for Protections and/or Domestic No Contact orders, Domestic No Contact for three years, no contact with victim(s), obtain permission from agent before leaving the state, follow all state and federal criminal laws, contact probation agent within 72 hours if charged with a new crime; are in contact with law enforcement; if change address, employment, or telephone number, cooperate with search of person, residence, vehicle, workplace, property, etc. by probation officer, sign releases of information as directed, give DNA sample when directed, don’t use/possess firearms, ammunition, or explosives, don’t register to vote or vote until discharged from probation and civil rights are fully restored. One additional felony charge of domestic assault, and a misdemeanor charge of obstruct legal process-interfere with peace officer, were both dismissed.

Abbie-Rae N. Oakland, 35, of Mankato was convicted of fifth-degree controlled substance possession-not small amount of marijuana; sentenced to jail 365 days, stayed 365 days for two years, two years supervised probation, contact probation officer as directed, successfully complete current inpatient treatment and follow all discharge recommendations, obtain permission from agent before leaving the state, no alcohol/controlled substance use with the exception of prescribed medications, no alcohol/controlled substance possession with the exception of prescribed medications, random testing, follow all state and federal criminal laws, contact probation agent within 72 hours if charged with a new crime; are in contact with law enforcement; if changes address, employment, or telephone number, cooperate with search of person, residence, vehicle, workplace, property, etc. by probation officer, sign releases of information as directed, don’t use/possess firearms, ammunition, or explosives if prohibited by law. Also convicted of fourth-degree operate motor vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance; fined $610, sentenced to jail 90 days, stayed 90 days for one year, one year supervised probation, contact probation officer as directed, attend MADD impact panel, successfully complete current residential treatment and follow all discharge recommendations, obtain permission from agent before leaving the state, no alcohol/controlled substance use with the exception of prescribed medications, no alcohol/controlled substance possession with the exception of prescribed medications, random testing, follow all state and federal criminal laws, contact probation agent within 72 hours if charged with a new crime; are in contact with law enforcement; if changes address, employment, or telephone number, cooperate with search of person, residence, vehicle, workplace, property, etc. by probation officer, sign releases of information as directed, don’t use/possess firearms, ammunition, or explosives if prohibited by law. Additional charge of possession of drug paraphernalia-use prohibited was dismissed.
