David A. Arizmendi, 47, of Madelia was convicted on a felony charge of fifth-degree controlled substance possession-not small amount of marijuana; fined $1,160, commit to Commissioner of Corrections 21 months, stayed five years, sentenced to jail 21 days, credit for time served 21 days, five years supervised probation, obtain permission from agent before leaving the state, complete chemical assessment, follow all recommendations of evaluation, cognitive skill training, no alcohol/controlled substance use unless prescribed by a physician, no alcohol/controlled substance possession, random testing, obtain employment, maintain employment, follow all conditions set forth in the probation agreement, follow all state and federal criminal laws, contact probation agent within 72 hours if charged with a new crime; are in contact with law enforcement; if change address, employment, or telephone number, cooperate with search of person, residence, vehicle, workplace, property, etc. by probation officer, sign releases of information as directed, give DNA sample when directed, don’t use/possess firearms, ammunition, or explosives, don’t register to vote until discharged from probation and civil rights are fully restored. Additional charge of introduce contraband-drug/alcohol into jail/lockup/prison was dismissed.

Kimberly K. Ewert, 51, of Sherburn was convicted of domestic assault-intentionally attempts to inflict bodily harm on another; sentenced to jail 90 days, stayed 73 days for one year, credit for time served 17 days, one year supervised probation, no alcohol/controlled substance use, random testing, diagnostic psychological evaluation/treatment, follow all recommendations of evaluation, complete chemical assessment, follow all recommendations of evaluation, remain law-abiding, no contact with victim(s) until further ordered by court, cooperate with Human Services referrals and sign releases, obtain permission from agent before leaving the state, follow all state and federal criminal laws, contact probation agent within 72 hours if charged with a new crime; are in contact with law enforcement; if change address, employment, or telephone number, cooperate with search of person, residence, vehicle, workplace, property, etc. by probation officer, sign releases of information as directed, don’t use/possess firearms, ammunition, or explosives. Additional felony charge of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon was dismissed.

Ashlee M. Hoeppner, 30, of Trimont was convicted of junk violation; fined $135. Also convicted of failure to license animal; fined $100.

Larry C. Potts, 61, of Welcome was convicted of driving while impaired-alcohol concentration 0.08 within two hours; fined $610, sentenced to jail 90 days, stayed 90 days for one year, one year unsupervised probation, attend MADD impact panel, no alcohol/controlled substance use, random testing, complete chemical assessment, follow recommendations of evaluation, no same or similar.
