Ruby’s Pantry plans distribution

Ruby’s Pantry will hold a food distribution from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, March 25, at the East Chain Evangelical Free Church, located at 507 280th Ave., rural East Chain. This will be conducted in a drive-through process. Participants will not have to get out of their cars. Participants are also asked to clean out the trunk of their vehicle prior to the event. There are no income or residency guidelines. Ruby’s Pantry is funded by the $25 cash donation per participant for operational costs. Alpha church plans Sunday ice cream social

Trinity Lutheran Church in Alpha will hold a homemade ice cream social from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, March 26, at their church located at 225 Main St. in Alpha. They will also serve chicken dumpling soup, chicken wild rice soup or chili, ham sandwiches, cookies and bars. This will be a free will offering. Proceeds from the event will be used for local charities and church mission projects. Everyone is welcome.

Give up worry for Lent

Well-known speaker, author and radio host, Gary Zimak, will be giving a series of three talks from March 26-28 on how to overcome anxiety, worry and stress. Each of the three presentations has different material, so attend as many of the three as possible. The first talk will be held 6:30 p.m. Sunday, March 26, at St. John Vianney in Fairmont. The next talk event will be 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 27, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth, and the last talk will be held 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, back at St. John Vianney in Fairmont. This is open to everyone. A meal will be served 5:30 p.m Monday and Tuesday nights before the talk.
