Grace Lutheran to hold upcoming rummage/bake sale

Grace Lutheran Church Missions will sponsor a rummage sale and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, 300 S. Grant St., Fairmont. Use the parking lot entrance. Most items will be 50 percent off on Saturday. A variety of household goods, toys and games, home and holiday decor, books, puzzles, jewelry, etc. will be offered. No clothing. You can also check out the baked goods and get a cup of coffee while you shop. Everyone is welcome.

Knights of Columbus slate appreciation dinner

Fairmont Knights of Columbus will hold their 24th annual “Appreciation Dinner” 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 920 E. 10th St. in Fairmont. Free food will be served and includes: hamburgers, baked beans, corn-on-the-cob, garden vegetables, etc. All bingo players are invited to attend. The dinner is held in appreciation for the support received from this past year. Raffles will be held and door prizes given. The public is invited.

Compassionate Friends plan walk event Sept. 12

SC MN Chapter of The Compassionate Friends, Inc. will hold a “Walk to Remember” event 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, at German Park in New Ulm, Minn. The organization is an international non-profit self help group for families of a child that has died. They offer friendship, understanding, grief information and hope. Anyone who is a bereaved parent, sibling, grandparent of a child of any age, miscarriage to adult, or any length of time since the death, or a caring individual who has suffered the death of a loved one is encouraged to join them on the walk.
