Service Club to hold meeting Tuesday

Fairmont Service Club will meet noon Tuesday at the Holiday Inn, Fairmont. The program this week will feature Mike Katzenmeyer, chairman of the Fairmont Lakes Foundation. The public is always welcome to join club members for these programs. For more information, please call president, Don Richards at (507) 236-3161.

Church plans free meal

First Congregational United Church of Christ in Fairmont will offer a free community meal served by the Fairmont Uptown Kiwanis Club from 5:30 p.m. until the food is gone Wednesday at their church located at 319 Downtown Plaza in Fairmont. The menu will consist of bratwursts, sauerkraut, potato salad, birthday cake and bottled water. This will be a drive through pick up meal in the alley behind the church. The meal is made possible by a generous donation in the memory of Greg Ashland by his family. Everyone is welcome.

Heritage Acres meeting on Thursday

The next monthly meeting for Heritage Acres members will be held 6 p.m. Thursday in the Prairieville Building at Heritage Acres, 507 Lake Ave. in Fairmont. Following a light supper and after the secretary and treasurer reports, Jerry Simon will review the success of the recent threshing bee, new donations and plans for the fall festival scheduled for Oct. 17. All members and the public are invited to attend.

The Farm Hands to perform in Sherburn

The Farm Hands, a musical group performing bluegrass music, featuring five award winning singers, musicians and songwriters including two long-time Grand Ole Opry veterans, will have a concert 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, at the Regional Worship Center (across from Kum & Go) in Sherburn. This will be for a free will offering. The public is invited.
