Red Rock to host music event

Red Rock Center for the Arts will host the band Galaxy at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Sylvania Park Band Shell in Fairmont. The band features area musicians Jerry Behnkendorf, Donnie Fausch, Glenn Henriksen, and Mark Kurseth playing all tour favorites from the 50s, 60s and more. Food trucks River City Eatery, Gran D’s Popcorn, and Mr. Munchies Shaved Ice will open at 5:30 p.m. The public is invited. A free will donation will be taken with proceeds benefiting the Red Rock Center’s upcoming season of opportunities.

College News

Elizabeth Asendorf of St. James graduated and was awarded a bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences on May 8 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Madison, Wis.

Samantha Stine of Granada graduated and was awarded a degree in psychology during a commencement ceremony held May 15 at The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in Oshkosh, Wis.

Dustin Schultz of Fairmont was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester of the 2020-21 academic year at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
