Worship Center plans breakfast

Regional Worship Center in Sherburn will host a community breakfast from 8-10 a.m. Monday at their facility located at 2 Crossroads Dr. in Sherburn. During this time they will not be serving buffet. The meal will be served as ordered. There will be a free will donation. Everyone is invited.

Winnebago blood drive Tuesday

An American Red Cross blood drive will be held noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Winnebago Community Center, 140 Main St. in Winnebago. Extra sanitization will be in place. Please wear a face covering and practice good physical distancing. To schedule an appointment, please call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org. Donors of all blood types are needed. Everyone is encouraged to donate blood to keep up with the challenging demands due to the pandemic and the winter season.

College News

Tessa Hall of St. James graduated and received a MSLS Information and Library Science degree in Dec. 2020 from Clarion University of Pennsylvania in Clarion, Pa.

Lance Becker was named to the dean’s list for the 2020 fall semester at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Annie Malliet of Fairmont graduated and was awarded a bachelor’s degree in psychology and human services following the 2020 fall semester at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Hannah Ammann of Truman graduated and was awarded an associate’s degree in agri-business science technology with honors during a recent virtual graduation ceremony from Western Technical College in La Crosse, Wis.
