CER offering educational opportunities

Adult Basic Education for age 17 or older, and not enrolled in K-12, is happening via distance-learning options and other study resources with instructor telephone/email contact. Those interested can learn English, prepare for the GED, improve reading/math/writing skills, basic computer skills and more. New adult learners are welcome to join at any time by contacting Fairmont Community Education and Recreation at (507) 235-3141. Registration can be done over the phone and adult learners will be enrolled in the most appropriate distance-learning program, as well as assigned to an ABE teacher to maintain weekly contact. Hands-on learning packets to help adult learners improve skills in reading, math, budgeting, financial literacy, work readiness, resume writing and GED preparation are available and can be customized to specific needs.
