Myeloma group to meet Saturday
Fairmont Area Multiple Myeloma Support Group will meet 10 a.m. to noon Saturday in the main classroom at Mayo Clinic Health System-Fairmont. Topic of discussion will be “Taking Advantage of Nutrition.” A light lunch will be available. Patients, caregivers, family and friends are welcome to attend. Ruby’s Pantry plans food distributions
Ruby’s Pantry, a community food outreach program, will hold a food distribution from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday at the East Chain Evangelical Free Church, located at 507 280th Ave., rural East Chain. There are no income or residency guidelines. Ruby’s Pantry is funded by the $20 cash donation per participant for operational costs. Please bring two large boxes or laundry baskets for the food. High School to host public forum
A public forum about a proposed Minnesota constitutional amendment involving quality education will be held 1:30-2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Performing Arts Center at Fairmont High School. Doors open at 1 p.m. Enter through door 10. Guests include Neel Kashkari, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis; former Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Alan Page; and Alene Tchourumoff, senior vice president of the Federal Reserve Bank. The public is invited.
