Low vision support group meets Thursday

A low-vision support group provides assistance to people living with vision-related problems. Support group meetings in Fairmont are open to anyone in the area with any degree of visual impairment. The low-vision support group will meet 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the CREST office, 820 Winnebago Ave., in Fairmont. Meghan Wendt from Minnesota State Services for the Blind will speak and provide new assistive devices or upgrades.

Class of 1964 to meet

Fairmont High School class of 1964 will meet 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Pizza Ranch, Fairmont.

Genealogical Society open house slated

October is National Family History Month, so the Martin County Genealogical Society will host an open house from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Pioneer Museum in Fairmont. If anyone wants to work on their research, the group will show them the tools. Coffee and cookies will be available. The public is invited. Truman pool fundraiser set for Saturday

Truman Pool will hold a bingo fundraiser from 3-5 p.m. Saturday at the Truman Community Building in Truman. After bingo, there will be a Truman Lions Club Burger Bash from 5-7 p.m. All proceeds from the Burger Bash will go to the pool to help repair the deck. At 7 p.m., the pool will hold a drawing for the shed raffle. Everyone is welcome.
