Great Books to meet

Great Books will meet 9:30 a.m. Monday in the back room at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont. The story is “The Chicane” by Amy Hempel.

Truman class of 1959 to hold luncheon

Truman High School class of 1959 will hold its next monthly luncheon 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at “Linda’s Place,” 236 E. Maine St., in Amboy. All class members and friends are invited to attend.

First Congregational plans free meal

The Mission Board of First Congregational United Church of Christ will host a free community meal beginning 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church, 319 Downtown Plaza, Fairmont. The meal will consist of egg bake, potatoes, zucchini bread, rhubarb cake, fruit, milk and water. All are welcome.
