Historical Society to offer presentation

A DVD presentation featuring the military experiences of Gerald “Gary” Schwieger will be shown 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Pioneer Museum, Fairmont. There is no charge. The public is invited to attend.

‘Fun with Food’ events set for Wednesday

“Fun with Food” events presented by Hy-Vee of Fairmont offer attendees an opportunity to learn about food and how to make a healthy snack. Sessions will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Truman Community Building in Truman, and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Trimont Municipal Building in Trimont. There is no cost to attend this program and no need to register.

College News

The following area students were named to the dean’s list for the 2019 spring semester at St. Olaf College in Northfield: Blue Earth — Miyako White; Fairmont — Lauren Carlson; Lakota — Lexis Julsrud-Wertjes; St. James — Thor Henderson.
