Welcome church plans Saturday pie social
During the Welcome Summer Festival this weekend, Trinity Lutheran Church will host a pie and ice cream social from 12:30-2 p.m. Saturday at the church, 204 Second St. Everyone is welcome.
Great Books to meet
Great Books will meet 9:30 a.m. Monday at Carmen Davison’s home, 463 Lake Park Blvd., Fairmont. The story is “Ugly” by Mary Gordon.
55+ driver program scheduled next week
Minnesota Highway Safety Center will offer a 55+ Driver Improvement Course next week. There will be an eight-hour First Time Course taught by a certified instructor from the Minnesota Highway Safety and Research Center from 5:30-9:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday at Fairmont Elementary School. The fee for the eight-hour first time course is $26. These courses are open to the public; pre-registration is required. According to Minnesota law, persons age 55 and older who complete the course qualify for a 10 percent discount on their auto insurance premiums for three years.
