Fairmont High School class of 1961, spouses and friends, will meet for lunch 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Pizza Ranch, Fairmont.
Flea Market slated this weekend
The 147th annual Antique Show and Flea Market will be held 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday at Vick’s Corner, at the junction of Highway 9 and 86 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Antiques, collectibles and more will be sold. Dealers from several states in the Midwest. Concessions available on the premises. Everyone is welcome. Opera House plans Fourth of July block party
Fairmont Opera House will hold a free Fourth of July block party from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday. The day will include activities for children and adults alike, with live music, a bouncy castle, food vendors and more. Musical entertainment by The Home Fires will be 10 a.m. to noon, Divas through the Decades will play 12:30-2:30 p.m., and Miss Myra and the Moonshiners will perform 3-6 p.m. More information is available at www.fairmontoperahouse.com or by calling (507) 238-4900.
City Band to hold concert
Fairmont City Band will hold a concert 8 p.m. Thursday at the Sylvania Park band shell in Fairmont. This will be a patriotic concert in celebration of the Fourth of July. There will be no concert Tuesday. The band will perform marches, show tunes and standard concert band literature. Intermission entertainment will be provided by the Blue Earth Town & Country Players, who will perform selections from their summer play “Once Upon a Mattress.” IHD committee will operate the concession stand, with proceeds going toward Interlaken Heritage Days activities. Rehearsal will be held 6:15 p.m. Thursday at the band shell. City Band is always looking for new members.
