Great Books to meet Monday

Great Books will meet 9:30 a.m. Monday at Barbara Hagen’s home, The Meadows, 1310 Adams Ave., Apt. 201, Fairmont. The story is “Campoamor” by Patricia Engel.

Relay for Life meeting slated in Fairmont

A Martin County Relay for Life team captains and committee meeting will be held 5:30 p.m. Monday in the main meeting room at Mayo Clinic Health System-Fairmont. All applicable members are encouraged to attend.

College News

The following area students were named to the dean’s list for the 2019 spring semester at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire: Blue Earth — Karli Olsen, Christopher Sanders; Fairmont — Alexandra Fischer, Sasha Riley.

The following area students were named to the dean’s list for the 2019 spring semester at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter: Blue Earth — Nyla Anderson; Fairmont — Madisyn Plumhoff, Iliana Ramon; St. James — Madison Carlson.

The following area students graduated and were awarded degrees during commencement ceremonies held in May at the University of Wisconsin-Stout: Blue Earth — Michael Ankeny, bachelor’s degree in construction; Fairmont — Shantel Quist, bachelor’s degree in interior design; Jackson — Jason Vongsavanh, bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Lisa Gauna of Blue Earth graduated and received an associate’s degree in health information technology following the 2019 spring semester at Rochester Community and Technical College in Rochester.
