Veterans memorial engraving coming up
The next engraving of veterans names on the Martin County Veterans Memorial will be held in late June or early July. All names received since initial engraving will be included. The deadline for additional names is June 20. Name requests received after June 20 will be engraved in late 2019, or semi-annually thereafter. Donor names or donations of $500 or more also will be recognized. Any veteran or veteran family/friend interested in having a name included on the wall may contact Jim Miller at (507) 236-1026. Cost per name is $200.
Valley Quilters to meet Monday
Blue Earth Valley Quilters will meet 7 p.m. Monday in the Blue Earth Area High School choir room. Enter through door “V” on the south side of the building. The main program will be an open discussion by Linda Bakken and Jan Shaffer, who will talk about what judges look for when evaluating quilts at the county fair. CREST to host Low Vision support group
Low Vision support group sponsored by CREST will meet 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the CREST office, 820 Winnebago Ave.. in Fairmont. A dietitian will speak on food and supplements that are good for eye health. Coffee and cookies will be served following this presentation.
