Martin Luther to host upcoming camp

Martin Luther High School in Northrop will host a Model Rocket Camp for students, sixth grade and up, and adults, from 6-9 p.m. June 17-21. The cost is $75 to build three rockets. Registration is due June 10. Details and registration are available at www.martinlutherhs.com under Special Events.

Retired highway workers to meet

Retired Martin County highway workers and spouses will meet for breakfast 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont.

Community coffee group to meet Tuesdays

Tuesday coffee hours for the month of June are held 8:30-10 a.m. at the Regional Worship Center (across from Kum & Go) in Sherburn. All are welcome.

Summer Playground Program offered

A free summer playground program featuring arts, crafts, games, creative play and more is being held this summer in Fairmont. It is for children in grades 1-7. Younger children may attend if accompanied by an adult. The program, sponsored by the city of Fairmont and Community Education and Recreation, will be held at several parks from 1-3 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning Tuesday and running through Aug. 8, with the following schedule and location: Tuesdays at Ward Park (June) and Gomsrud Park (July and August); Wednesdays at Veterans Park (June and July) and Lincoln Park (August); Thursdays at Sylvania Park (June and August) and Amber Lake Park (July). Parents are encouraged to pre-register at CER or fill out a registration form on the first day at the park. For more information, call the CER office at (507) 235-3141.

Conservation Club sets Tuesday meeting

Martin County Conservation Club Inc. will meet 7 p.m. Tuesday at the club shelter house on North Silver Lake. To reach the park, drive seven miles south of Fairmont on Highway 15, then take a right on County Road 8 for 1 1/4 miles just past Hands Park. All members and the public are welcome to attend.

Fairmont City Band to hold concert

Fairmont City Band will perform its first summer concert 8 p.m. Tuesday at Sylvania Park in Fairmont. Intermission entertainment will be provided by Eric Head and Ethan Gronewald. IHD committee will operate the concession stand, with proceeds going toward Interlaken Heritage Days activities. Rehearsal will be held 6 p.m. Tuesday at the band shell.
