Class of 1951 to meet

Fairmont High School class of 1951, spouses and friends will meet for lunch 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont.

St. James of Northrop to hold VBS

St. James Lutheran Church of Northrop and Zion Lutheran Church-Fraser Township will hold a joint Vacation Bible School nightly beginning Sunday and continuing through June 13 at the church in Northrop. This is for children ages 3 through those entering the sixth grade. Each night, a free children’s supper will be served from 5:15-6 p.m., followed by activities from 6-8 p.m. All activities will be held in the school. 55+ driver program scheduled next week

Minnesota Highway Safety Center will offer a 55+ Driver Improvement Course next week. There will be a four-hour Refresher Course taught by a certified instructor from the Minnesota Highway Safety and Research Center from noon to 4 p.m. Monday in the library at Sherburn Elementary School, 105 E. Fifth St., Sherburn. The fee for the four-hour refresher course is $22. These courses are open to the public; pre-registration is required. According to Minnesota law, persons age 55 and older who complete the course qualify for a 10 percent discount on their auto insurance premiums for three years.
