Early Risers to hold Wednesday meeting

Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Fairmont will meet 6:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont. Featured this week will be Amy Long, site administrator for Mayo Clinic Health System-Fairmont. The public is invited to attend.

Class of 1953 to meet

Fairmont High School class of 1953 will meet for lunch 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont.

Humane Society plans bake sale fundraiser

Martin County Humane Society will hold a bake sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Fleet and Farm, 1300 N. State St., in Fairmont. All proceeds will help with expenses for the animals at the shelter. Everyone is welcome.

Butterfly garden open house scheduled

In addition to helping plant flowers and build butterfly houses, Girl Scout Troop 34517 will host an open house for the butterfly garden from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the former site of the prairie dog exhibit just east of Heritage Acres, Fairmont. Rain date will be Sunday. The garden is maintained by the Fairmont Exchange Club. Snacks will be provided. All are welcome.
