Annual memorial service slated in Frost

United Lutheran Church of Frost will host its annual memorial service 10 a.m. Sunday. The program is a joint service of Bethany Lutheran, South Blue Earth Lutheran and United Lutheran. This year’s featured speaker will be Bill “Brock” Brockberg, Nobles County Veterans Service Officer. There also will be an opportunity to leave worn or torn flags at the church. The service is open to the public and everyone is invited to attend a Norwegian meatball dinner following the service.

Martin Luther to hold commencement

Martin Luther High School in Northrop will hold its 34th commencement and graduation service 2 p.m. Sunday in the school gym. Amanda Bergt will deliver the commencement address. Class of 2019 speakers will be Sierra Geistfeld and Bennett Shane. Everyone is invited.

St. John Vianney plans Sunday meal

A free hot meal hosted by St. John Vianney Catholic Church will be held 6 p.m. Sunday in the hospitality area at the church, 901 S. Prairie Ave., Fairmont. They serve a free meal the fourth Sunday of every month. Everyone is welcome.

East Chain plans Memorial Day events

The 124th annual East Chain Memorial Day services will be held Monday at the East Chain Activity Center (old school building), rural East Chain. Coffee, juice and donuts will be served 8:45 a.m., with the services getting underway around 9:30 a.m. The speaker will be Lenny Tvedten of the Martin County Historical Society. Following the services, to honor deceased veterans, “Taps” will be played and the 4-H Honor Guard will place wreaths at the East Chain Evangelical Free Church Cemetery east of East Chain. Everyone is welcome.

Trimont slates Memorial Day service

A Memorial Day service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday in the auditorium at the Trimont Elementary School. Following the service, a barbecue luncheon will follow in the commons area. Everyone is invited to attend.
