Bike rodeo planned Wednesday

Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Fairmont, Community Education and Recreation, Safe Routes to School, Fairmont Police Department, Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont and The Bicycle Shoppe will offer a children’s bike safety rodeo from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the west lot at Fairmont Elementary School, 714 Victoria St., Fairmont. The event is being held in conjunction with International Walk/Bike to School Day. ABC bike checks will be provided along with a bike handling and safety skills course. Principal Jim Davison and staff will serve hot dogs. Parents are invited to attend.

Regional Worship Center plans meal

A community spaghetti supper will be served 5-6 p.m. Wednesday at the Regional Worship Center, Sherburn Assembly of God, 2 Crossroads Dr., in Sherburn. Donations accepted. The public is invited.

Diabetes support group meets Wednesday

Jill O’Donnell, Mayo Clinic Health System-certified diabetes educator, and Julie Morris, Mayo Clinic Health System licensed practical nurse, host monthly community diabetes support group meetings the second Wednesday of each month in the main classroom at Mayo Clinic Health System hospital in Fairmont. The next meeting will be 7 p.m. Wednesday. These informal meetings provide a way for adults with diabetes to share successes, challenges and advice, as well as learn more about the disease from medical experts.
