East Chain church plans coffee party

East Chain United Methodist Church will host its monthly community coffee party from 8:30-11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Rolls, donuts, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and juice will be served. Donations accepted. Everyone is welcome.

Great Books to meet

Great Books will meet 9:30 a.m. Monday in the back room at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont. The story is “Maidencane” by Chad B. Anderson.

Fairmont Community Hospital retirees will meet for lunch 11 a.m. Monday at Green Mill Restaurant, Fairmont.

Prairie Star Quilters to hold meeting

Prairie Star Quilt Guild will meet Monday at Fairmont Evangelical Covenant Church, 901 Woodland Ave., in Fairmont. Karla Schultz will give a class for those who have already registered in the morning. The guild board will meet at 12:30 p.m., with the regular membership meeting beginning at 1:30 p.m. The evening group will meet at 5:30 p.m. Membership is open to anyone who enjoys quilting. Arc group to meet Monday evening

55+ driver program scheduled

Minnesota Highway Safety Center will offer a 55+ Driver Improvement Course next week in the area. There will be an four-hour Refresher Course taught by a certified instructor from the Minnesota Highway Safety and Research Center from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Budd Room at Fairmont Elementary School, 714 Victoria St., Fairmont. The fee for the course is $22. These courses are open to the public; pre-registration is required.
