Martin Luther plans benefit luncheon
A soup and sandwich benefit luncheon originally scheduled for Feb. 24 will now be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Martin Luther High School in Northrop. The menu includes various soups, egg salad and ham sandwiches, cupcakes, homemade ice cream, lemonade and brewed coffee. Cost is a donation. Proceeds will benefit the student tuition aid fund. Also, a $1,000 challenge match is being offered that day to help provide scholarships to students. Everyone is invited.
Music event slated Sunday in Fairmont
The 24th annual Festival of Music will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Fairmont United Methodist Church, 119 E. Second St., in Fairmont. The music reflects the tradition of area churches and the theme of the music will be about the suffering of Jesus and his resurrection. The program will consist of solos, instrumentals, ensembles and choirs. There will also be scripture readings and a hymn sing during the festival. An offering will be received at this event and will go to support the ministry of CREST in Martin County. The public is cordially invited to attend.
