Martin Luther announces cancellation
Because of impending weather conditions this weekend, the soup and sandwich lunch scheduled for Sunday has been moved to March 10 at Martin Luther High School in Northrop. Serving will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is a donation.
Woodcarvers schedule Tuesday meeting
CER Woodcarving group will meet 7 p.m. Tuesday in the art room at Fairmont Elementary School. Park on the south side of the building and use the CER office door. No charge. New and experienced carvers are welcome.
Truman class of 1959 to meet
Truman High School class of 1959 will hold its monthly luncheon 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Home Town Cafe in St. James. All classmates are encouraged to attend.
Library to host healthy eating event
Martin County Library in Fairmont will host a “Eating on the Go” event with the Hy-Vee dietician at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. There is no cost to attend. The program is open to the public. For more information, call the library at (507) 238-4207.
Fundraiser slated Thursday in Fairmont
From 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Arby’s will donate 15 percent of sales to the Fairmont Jr./Sr. High School Cardinal Activity Fund.

John Dosedel of Fairmont and Reilly Geistfeld of Truman were named to the College of Liberal Arts dean’s list for the fall semester at Hamline University in St. Paul.
