Prairie Star Quilters to meet Monday

Prairie Star Quilt Guild will meet Monday at Fairmont Evangelical Covenant Church, 901 Woodland Ave., in Fairmont. A work day will begin at 9 a.m. for the service project veterans lap quilts. The guild board will meet at 12:30 p.m., with the regular membership meeting at 1:30 p.m. The evening group will meet at 5:30 p.m. Anyone interested in this quilting group may contact Deb Engman at (507) 236-6253.

Great Books to meet

Great Books will meet 9:30 a.m. Monday at Jo Moltzen’s home, 223 Budd Lake Dr., Fairmont. The story is “Are We Not Men?” by T.C. Boyle.

Library to host ‘Sweet Treats and Reads’

Children in grades 3-6 are invited to join library staff for “Sweet Treats and Reads” at 4 p.m. Monday at the Martin County Library, Fairmont. They will have treats, book-related activities and talk about new books. This event is free and no registration is required. For more information, call the library at (507) 238-4207.

Dollars for Scholars offers help night

Martin County West Dollars for Scholars will hold an informational meeting for all MCW seniors and their parents at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the computer lab at the high school in Sherburn. They will explain how the scholarship application system works and how it is scored, as well as help fill out applications. The application deadline is March 15. Students who wish to apply should start by creating or updating their online student profile at: dollarsforscholars.org. Martin County West Dollars for Scholars will award scholarships to seniors who apply, and to post-secondary students who re-apply.
