Red Cross blood drive set for next week

A Red Cross blood drive will be held 1-7 p.m. Monday at Evangelical Covenant Church, 61 Main St. E., in Trimont. The Red Cross asks all eligible donors, especially platelet donors and blood donors with type O blood, to make an appointment to give to help restock the shelves for hospital patients. Free income tax assistance offered

AARP Tax Aide will provide free income tax returns in Fairmont beginning Tuesday. Volunteers will be available to complete income tax returns from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 11 at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 102 N. Park St., Fairmont. Class of 1960 to lunch

Fairmont High School class of 1960, spouses and friends will meet for lunch 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Pizza Ranch, Fairmont.

3M employees to meet

3M employees, past and present, will meet for lunch noon Tuesday at Green Mill Restaurant, Fairmont.

55+ driver programs scheduled next week

Minnesota Highway Safety Center will offer two 55+ Driver Improvement Courses next week. First, there will be a four-hour Refresher Course taught by a certified instructor from the Minnesota Highway Safety and Research Center from 1-5 p.m. Tuesday at Winnebago Municipal Center. Second, there will be a four-hour Refresher Course from the Minnesota Highway Safety and Research Center that will be held 5:30-9:30 p.m. Wednesday in the conference room at Blue Earth Elementary School, 315 Sixth St., Blue Earth. (Enter through door M). The fee for the four-hour refresher course is $22. These courses are open to the public; pre-registration is required. According to Minnesota law, persons age 55 and older who complete the course qualify for a 10 percent discount on their auto insurance premiums for three years. Legion Auxiliary sets Tuesday meeting

Fairmont American Legion Auxiliary Unit 36 will meet 7 p.m. Tuesday at Goldfinch Estates in Fairmont. Anyone interested in the auxiliary may attend.
